The City of Austin commenced the Colony Park Development on April 3, celebrating with a ceremony attended by community members, city officials, and business leaders.

The Colony Park initiative focuses on developing 208 acres of city-owned land in Austin. Upon completion, the project is set to offer up to 3,000 housing units, including single-family homes, row/town homes, and mixed-use apartments. It will also feature about 230,000 square feet of office space and 130,000 square feet of retail space. The development aims to enhance access to healthcare services, parks, food options, economic growth, educational opportunities, and workforce housing.

Austin Mayor Kirk Watson highlighted the collaborative nature of the project, stating, “The Colony Park Development has been a true partnership between the City and the community from the start. We’ve listened, learned, and worked together to bring real solutions – like more affordable housing and better access to resources. Now, as we move ahead, I’m excited to see these changes come to life and make a lasting difference for the people who call this community home.”

One of the project's focal areas is the Loyola Town Center, which will accommodate a grocery store, retail, office space, and institutional uses. Central Health’s Colony Park Health and Wellness Center is also part of this phase, aimed at offering new healthcare services to Northeast Austin and Travis County residents.
