U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul, representing Texas, has been awarded the Friend of Farm Bureau award by the American Farm Bureau. This recognition is for his support of farmers, ranchers, and the broader agricultural community in Texas.
"As a fourth generation Texan, I am honored to receive this award from the American Farm Bureau on behalf of our hardworking farmers and ranchers in my district," stated Rep. McCaul. "Texas is home to the largest number of farms and ranches in the country. Our farmers and ranchers put in long, hard days to protect our lands, secure our food supply chains, and get food on the table. I am thankful for the work they do and will continue to advocate for their needs and support the next generation in agriculture careers."
The American Farm Bureau selects members of Congress for this award based on nominations by state farm bureaus. These nominations are given for legislative efforts that benefit farmers, ranchers, and the agricultural sector.
Recently, Rep. McCaul collaborated with 140 Republican colleagues to send a letter to House GOP leadership. The letter emphasized their commitment to advancing a farm bill that aligns with the needs of production agriculture and rural America. It highlighted the significance of updating policies under the 2024 Farm Bill as current policies date back to 2018.
